Well, after being in Texas for a while, we looked up and noticed we crossed the half-way point of Texas.  However, and more importantly, we have crossed the half-way point in the journey.  The wind has taken a little bit of a break, thank goodness.  It's been about 5 days of running straight into a headwind.  And we're talking about 30-40 mph headwinds.  Here is a picture of the beautiful colors we are now seeing after all the browns of the desert.

While some days it seems like we just started, other days it seems like we have forever to go.  It is very important to take a one-day-at-a-time perspective on a journey like this otherwise it can get overwhelming very quickly.  Something that helps keep things in perspective is making new friends like this...

And more new friends like this family...

And of course nothing quite helps remind us of daily living like a smiling face!
